About

A blue whale skeleton now dives through the entrance hall where a plaster diplodocus cast used to stand, and the ornate terracotta building around it is as much the exhibit as anything inside a case. Children gravitate to the dinosaur gallery and the earthquake simulator, adults tend to linger in the minerals hall most people rush past. General admission is free, though the special ticketed exhibitions are worth checking in advance.
